Novemeber 5, 2008 - After a long , hard, and at time patience wearing season the time has come to unwind and reflect on the 2008 racing season that was. The LCM Team will be doing that this week as they head to Las Vegas' Rio All Suite Resort for the NASCAR Whelen All American Series banquet. They will be going to celebrate not only their dominating track championship at All-Star Speedway but for the New Hampshire State NASCAR title as well.
In taking down the crown at the All-Star Speedway the team racked up 9 wins in 17 starts. The 9 wins came in three different cars during the season. On opening night Mechalides won driving the Marco Turcotte #40 but that team disbanded on the Monday after the season opening victory. A lease program was then put together for the MacArthur #55 which took Mechalides to another three victories before the brand new LCM #40 took to the speedway. When the new car debuted it was lights out for the competition for the remainder of the season as Mechalides swept the final five events of the season. Just two finishes were out of the top ten for the team the entire season.
"It was a great year, one that we will remember for a long time to come, the All-Star Modifieds are a great division and I finally got my Star track championship," Says driver Louie Mechalides.
"We're going to have some fun and celebrate as a team, the only ones missing are Timmy, he could'nt miss school, and my mother, but we will make sure they are fully included for the local All-Star banquet in January."
The team would like to thank sponsors who helped them during the 2008 racing season, Ace Express, Matt Miller Auto Body and Triad Associates.
